What do I need to do to prepare for the move?
Be organized and make a list of everything you need to do. You can consult our moving checklist for a detailed list of things you need to do to prepare for the move. The very first step is to call us as EZ Movers, Inc at 1 888 917 8300. Our moving consultant would give you all the information you need for the move. Here are some FAQs:
Do I need to move everything?
No, not at all. In fact, we recommend that you discard all the things that you no longer use and need. You also need to discard all chemical household products responsibly. For interstate moves, we recommend that you consider selling items or donating them instead of moving them.
I’ve removed unwanted goods. Do I have to pack?
No. You don’t have to pack. If you’re a DIY minded person, you can. If not, you can allow our expert crew to handle the cumbersome job. You can choose a full or a partial packing service, depending on your needs and budget. If you decide to do it yourself, you can refer to our moving checklist or packing tips pages for more information.
How long does it take to move?
There’s no clear way to telling you the timeline of the move here because it’s subjective. It depends on where you want to move, the weather, the time of the year, the shipment, loading and unloading times, etc. at EZ Movers, Inc, we like to be prompt but we don’t rush through the move and risk damage to the goods. Long distance moves are less predictable than local ones; the latter usually take about a day to finish.
Do my appliances need special attention?
Yes, that’s why most people don’t bother to ship appliances unless they don’t have any other choice. Most appliances need to be serviced and disconnected properly. All moving parts need to be anchored or removed. You should hire an expert for this. We will provide this service at an extra charge upon your request.
When should I call a moving company?
As early as possible; this is especially if you’re moving during the peak season. This is usually in the summer months as the kids are between grades and the weather is comfortable. If you call well in advance, we might be able to meet the date and time you request.
What happens when I reschedule my move?
Simply give us a call and we’ll check if the dates are available. We’re willing to work with you in that respect.
How long will it take to get my items for a long distance move?
Typically, 3-5 business days from the Requested Delivery Date; not to exceed the appropriate Delivery Spread.
What happens if the moving company does not deliver the items within the Delivery Spread?
A penalty will be assessed for every business day that we are late for long distance moves.
What happens if I go over the estimated cubic footage for a long distance move?
You will be charged the appropriate rate per cubic foot that you go over.
For Local moves:
Will I be charged more if I have more items on the day of the move for local moves?
Since all Local moves are based on time, making small additions will not affect the price. However, adding a
large number of items could increase the time required to do the move; resulting in a higher price.
How much will I be charged if it takes longer than the estimated time for my move?
You will be charged in 15-minute increments based on the hourly rate.
Where is EZ Mover located?
I only want a quote for moving my things, what are your rates?
Rates will vary depending on a number of factors examples being if the move is local, time
involved, stairs/elevator, dates, size of crew # of trucks etc.?
What size are your trucks?
We have small local trucks up to semi-trailers
Do you take apart the furniture?
Yes and we will re-assemble it as well
Do you move on the weekend and is it more?
We move all days except for a few major holidays. Winter months same cost per day but in Summer, each day may be different

How does a moving company charge for their services?
Services are charged by volume and local moves are time based and cubic feet for long distance.
Will a moving company pack everything?
Yes we do offer full service packing based on your specific needs

How do we charge whether it be long distance or local?
A moving company will charge on a time basis for local and cubic feet for long distance.
What’s included in the price?
Local, all materials, loading/unloading, disassembly and assembly of furniture. Gas, taxes, tolls and insurance. Same for Long but boxes are an additional charge. With long distance move, materials are separate from the price .
Do we offer storage?
Yes, 30 days free
Can the customer keep stuff in drawers of dressers?
No but lightweight articles of clothing are sometimes okay like socks/underwear.
Do we move Pianos and is there an extra charge?
We do, and only extra charge is for a Baby Grand unless it’s a local move. We require 4 guys
