Instrument Care
Specialized Piano Movers
A piano isn’t just furniture; it’s a delicate instrument with thousands of moving parts and immense weight. Moving one requires more than muscle—it requires technique.
EZ Movers has specialized crews trained specifically for piano relocation. We use custom piano boards, heavy-duty dollies, and specific padding techniques to ensure your piano arrives in perfect condition and tune.
- All Types: Uprights, Baby Grands, Concert Grands, and Organs.
- Proper Equipment: Skid boards, locking belts, and floor protection.
- Stair Expertise: We safely navigate tight turns and staircases.
- Climate Control: Temperature-regulated storage available.
We Move All Piano Types
Different pianos require different handling techniques. We know them all.
Upright Pianos
From spinets to full uprights. We protect the pedals, keys, and finish while navigating doorways and hallways.
Grand Pianos
We carefully remove the legs and lyre, wrap the body in moving blankets, and secure it to a specialized piano board (skid).
Hoisting & Craning
Does your piano need to go to the second floor but won’t fit up the stairs? We offer specialized hoisting services through balconies or windows.
The Piano Moving Process
Assessment
We ask for the piano type, make, and model, plus photos of stairs/doorways to plan the right crew size and equipment.
Preparation
We remove legs/pedals (if applicable), wrap the instrument in heavy-duty pads, and shrink wrap it to prevent scratches.
The Move
Using piano skids and dollies, we transport the instrument to the truck, securing it with straps to prevent any shifting.
Placement
We reassemble the piano in your new home, placing it exactly where you want it. (Note: Tuning is recommended a few weeks after the move).
