A lot of Uptown's most recognizable buildings were originally hotels — The Lawrence House, The Draper, the Sheridan Plaza — and even though they're now apartments, they kept the bones: narrower hallways than a purpose-built residential building, smaller elevators, and professional management teams that require a COI before any moving crew is allowed in. Some buildings also have scheduled move windows on weekdays only. How far out should I book an Uptown move?
For weekend moves May through September, 3 weeks out is the practical minimum. If you're in one of the converted buildings that requires a COI and a scheduled move window, add extra time — some building managers need 7–10 business days to process paperwork.
